    hey guys
would rims of this size fit on a new 2 door polo?
is 5x112 stud pattern and off set about 50.
    thanks

I can't help you there mate, except for the wheel stud sizing sounds familiar, but a further question for those people in the know: Could we have a definitive list of wheel stats for the Polo, GTI included? There seems to be a bit of confusion and conjecture, so It'd be helpful if there was a definitive post on the matter. It just might save a lot of repeated "Will these wheels fit on my car?" posts.

No. All Polos have a PCD of 5x100.

          Could I make them fit?
          Spacers. Adapters?
Will it be much of a hassle?

By 2 doors i think you meant trendline? I think a nice set of 15 inch wheels is the way to go with respect to the look and comfort. And I thought I read somewhere spacers aren't legal in Aus, and adapters are a hassle for sure, if not been over-priced!

Yep, technically it's possible but it's not legal in Victoria or NSW (and probably other states...haven't looked).

The regs state that the PCD of any replacement wheels must be the same as original and as BR@ON says, spacers are illegal too unless they're supplied as part of the original vehicle.

Will it be a hassle? Well spending up on new rims, tyres and adapters only to have your car defected seems like a hassle to me! Will it happen? Who can tell...

Same fitment as MkIV golf, 9n/9n3 Polo, early Audi A3/S3 and VR6.
Not a lot of options, try Tempe Tyres or Tyre Rack for ideas

Sounds wide for stock rims, will also depend on the wheel offset for clearance of suspension components.

                            what about 18x8 +45 ?

Well was thinking of either the black or maybe even a hyper matte silver on my '10 golf 103tdi.
Only doing it because my sister scarped the crap out of mine a little while back.
Decided I'd save up and just get 18's sometime rather than paint so it's all good.
                              Thanks guys
Oh and btw my golf is united grey
