  • How to get a stiffer ride without lowering

    Hi,
can i just get some stiffer rated springs and replace the existing springs to make the ride stiffer? polo gti stock springs seem so soft, especially like around round abouts.

question2: there would not be a point to get coilovers or a shock/spring combo without getting car lowered? i dont want to get the car lowered cause it's frustrating with speed bumps.

please recommend best products to improve handling without lowering.

*im definitely getting rear sway bar.

    Rear sway bar would help.
Wider wheels would also help due to a larger contact patch of rubber.

Allsprings at liverpool can make standard springs stiffer..
i think they heat them up and change it but keep the stock height!

You can change the shocks too. My previous car was a Nissan X-Trail, they are like a boat, all I did was fit a whiteline rear swaybar and a set of Koni adjustable shocks, with the shocks set to soft it was like stock, with them set to firm there was virtually no body roll and it handled like a performance sedan.

I have put Heavy Duty Bilstein shocks on my Bora (stock springs) and it has firmed it up nicely without reducing height. I think it would benefit from a thicker rear swaybar too but that is mostly to reduce the understeer.
