  • Tried search No Luck- 18x8.5 et35 on a MK6 Golf

    hi guys,

Will these fit or will I need body work for it to work?

    no chance

18x8.5 et 48 is about flush. So you would be hanging out the front guards by over 10mm

It might be possible to make them fit but it depends on how committed to the cause you are. Body work is expensive. You would need more that just a light rolling to make them fit I reckon.
Id think its better to find something a little more conservative.

You can make them fit depending on what tyres you run and how low you go. This fitment guide is perfect and tells you what rims sizes and what tyre sizes can potentially work.

The other option would be to mill the inside down 5-7mm. That would work wouldn't it?

it depends on the design of the wheel on whether you can shave some off the mounting face. Usually you can get away with a couple of mm but nowhere near what you need.
Without modification even if you did make them fit they would look ridiculous with that much poke unless you were stupidly low, willing to have massively stretched tyres and rub everywhere you go.. That spec is probly more suited to a passat or A4
