  • 2009 MkV R32 Wheels on GTi MkVI

    Hi all

I have been searching high and low for some photos of a new Mk6 GTI with 2009 spec R32 wheels on it... The reason I ask this is that I am having the dealer replace the 18' Detroits for these when the car gets delivered.

So I was wondering whether anyone else has done this.

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply Nath, much appreciated. These are the wheels.

I hope that picture works! FYI, I have order a Reflex Silver 5d Gti. I am hoping they look alright, but I am pretty sure they will look better than those awful Detroits!

To be honest, I really like the rims that come on the GTD. Those are sharp. I wish we had the choice of that rim on the GTI. Looks a real pain to clean though, which is one reason why I love the Detroits so much...I can clean them with ease....and yes, I know corey, I`m straying off post topic...sorry!

              Nath

Thanks so much for that! Well I think it looks great, but as you said, it is all personal preference

Now I can look at this for the next 4.5 months until it gets delivered!

For the record, I also like the wheels on the GTD, but they only come in 17"

I've got photos of my 2010 GTI with the older multi spoke OEM R32 wheels fitted. I think the older style R32 wheels look a lot nicer than the 2009 series. Anyhow I ended up switching back to the 18' Detroits. The wheels shown are FS if you are interested. They are genuine and in immaculate condition.

Just a quick question wilsona.... Why did you change back to the Detroits?

                  Cheers

Detroits for sale? I may be VERY interested - I'm looking at 09/10 GTIs but most of them come with Denvers.

In my opinion, mk v wheels on a mk vi date it. I wouldn't put the r32 wheels on a new gti. I just put the new r wheels on my mk v gti. Really updates the look rather than going backwards. Again, in my opinion...

I thought the Detroits probably looked a little more aggressive and perhaps suited the car more than I thought they would.
