235s on 8" rims - mk6 GTI

Hi all,
just got a set of momo 18' x 8' rims 50mm et, I was wondering if 235s would be ok or would they rub. The car has the standard GTI ride height and I wasn't planning on lowering the car.

What profile as this will make a difference, guessing youll be going for 40?
on standard height id say you'd be ok

was looking a 235/40s,
was also looking at the advanti concept wheels, but after the trouble the guy in the tiguan had I thought otherwise.
