  • Suspension help please..Gold Coast area.

    Guys,

I live just south of the Goldie, and I'm after some help please..
Just about wore out my poor ol' Google..

Does anyone have a suspension shop they are happy with..?
Preferably one who stocks Eibach or H & R brands..I know this is a huge ask...
Ultimately, I wish to drop my ride height by about 30mm...

I've checked both brands sites and they have similar sizes to suit.
But finding a local distributor is driving me nuts...other than evil-bay, and they wont respond to emails..

Is sourcing them from overseas our only option...? Probably cheaper to do so I guess...

    TIA

what are you after? is it looks, or handling? because with your car you might find that you only need to upgrade the sway bars and bushes in order to get rad handling.

but if its looks, i'd be more inclined to find somewhere online e.g. europerformance.co.uk or dpmperformance.co.uk to ship the springs to you.

i got my springs for $200aud, + $225 for installation by my local vw specialist mech = $425. pedders were quoting me $900. there's much to be saved by not buying from a local distributor.

    so yeah, whats your goal?

support Scott's advice. if you can pick them up out of USA, then freight is probably going to be a bit cheaper.

Tirerack in USA do a large range

you could also consider coilovers if you want adjustability too, albeit a lot more expensive than springs

        Thanks guys.

Yes Buller Scott, I guess it's to do with "look"....some of the rides I've seen on here so far, just look better with a slight drop in height...
A sportier ride wont hurt either I guess, most of my driving is done on decent roads...
Checked my local Pedders (Gold Coast) today and yep...pricing is a little steep there too...
Nearly all other major suspension houses stock or recommend Kings... Won't be going that way again, had them on my WRX...

Also have had a good look at the Tirerack, their pricing is good, be it coils or coilovers...I may just hold off and save for coilovers me thinks..

        Thanks again guys.

lol yeah it's taken me less than a week with springs on to realise that i want MOAR!

coilies are on the cards next, in the near future, for sure.

That's what would worry me as well......fit the coils, then wish for more....

A bit more research this evening has located a KW stockist in Brisbane. Their Variant 1 system looks pretty good for all-round street use..
I have an extended break over Easter (4 extra days) so guess where I'm headed.....
