  • Scratched wheel repairers in Melbourne

Scratched my new left rear wheel yesterday while exiting the hotel carpark in Canberra. It is about 6inches long. Had 7hours to vent my anger and frustration while driving back to Melbourne.
Does anyone know where I can have the wheel repaired in Melbourne? Cost? Someone mentioned there are two type sanding and respray or the worlks.

    Try:
    http://www.colorurmags.com.au/

Advanced are the "big" boys but it seems just as many unhappy as happy customers and my own experience in getting a quote suggests they are $$$$$$$$. That said if you are getting quotes Colorurmags and Advanced are within 10 minutes drive of each other.

Best place by far is wheel solutions in Richmond off Church st. They work on all the euro cars and have reasonable prices. He did my wheels, heres a pic.

Not happy with them... paint flakes off after 3 months, what a bog job that cost $50 compare to somewhere else more reliable

            Resurrecting an old thread here...

I curbed my Scirocco wheels on Saturday and after about 30 minutes of expletives escaping from my mouth on the trip home, I asked Damian and Elise from Final Inspection for a recommendation for the repair, and they also recommended Wheel Solutions. Thouroughly relieved that they are so highly recommended on here too

Whilst I'm there I might ask for a quote to get the wheels painted too..

Matt and Andy are great guys and will be able to sort out whatever you need - last time I was there, they were repainting sets of Lamborghini Gallardo wheels that had been damaged when the cars were shipped.

Gosh, I just got a repair done by Advance 18 new yorkers, they seemed ok and job looks good. Was recommended by Eurostyle (old Dietmar P/B). Oh well I'll try the other guys in Richmond, they are closer anyway. If the paint flaked off did you take it back to them and what was their response?

I have been advised Ace Alloy Repairs in Braeside (Vic) are good and well respected, does any one have any experience with these guys??

Dropped car off this morning. I was asking about getting the curb rash repaired, when we decided to just get them painted now, rather than have the wheel repaired, then painted in a couple of weeks. Nicest guys around
Matt showed me some of the wheels they've done recently in dark grey, and I picked a Ferrari dark grey with gloss finish.
They put 4 x 18" wheels on my Scirocco and sent me on my way. Will pick them up tomorrow!
Meanwhile my tire sensor went off due to the 18's being on, and I am trying to figure out how to fix that.. I suppose I could rtfm.

if the tpm lights up, then u just reset the tpm by pushing and holding thebutton in the glovebox and it goes away. anytime u change wheels or adjust tire pressures the tpm might light up

Man I wish we had a place like this in Sydney. Have sent emails to almost every powder coater/painter in the city. Of the ones who wrote back (two), none have loan tyres to lend.

she_dub....out of curiosity, do you know how much does it cost to fix one corner (without getting them painted)?

It depends on the colour of the wheel and where the scratch is. It can cost anywhere from $80 to close to $200. Best to give Matt a call for a quote

                              Hi all,
When I got my Golf GT Sport Diesel about 6 months ago it had pretty mint wheels but my wife seemingly made it her mission to mash each corner..(nothing there about female drivers, just my wife. drives me mad (pardon the pun.))
On recommendation from here, took said mangle wheeled Golf to Wheel Solutions in Richmond , Melbourne (off Church St)
$165 a wheel inc GST, done same day, good job, friendly guys. Would recommend them and would use them again (probably should have said will...wish it wasn't the case.)
Now...anyone know of anything to help protect rims? not really an option to ban the wife ...maybe there's a rubbing strip or something I can place on each rim edge?
How much are new SevenX wheels (or are they called ClassiX?) anyway? Could have 2 sets...his n hers
                              Cheers Tim
