my view, buy a wheel YOU are happy with, not what the next owner might want
I agree, "eye of the beholder" and all that.... dont take this the wrong way, but the wheels are for your car. There are a heap of places you can take your car to and "view' the wheels against it. Ultimately, if 5 people agree on a wheel, does that make it the right decision? Create the look your happy to ride in, unless your pockets are deep and you can either change wheels as often as Pierre, or you import a unique set.

An update, I was emailed the wrong picture. It should have been:

It goes without saying I don't like it. It was the fault of the manufacturer, not the tyre shop.

The M3 CSL style are nice. Unfortunately those sold in Australia only fit BMWs. VMR sell them for 5x112 http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels_v710.html

I like the VMR wheels. Would the 18 x 8.5 fit a Golf VI? If so, which offset, 35 or 45.

              Offset 45.

I think it is almost identical in size to the R32 wheels (Omanyt)

I just put on new 18x8 Team Dynamics ProRace 1.2s to replace my VMR V708s in an 18x8.5 fitment. Yes they'll fit but if it's not for performance oriented driving you'll notice some harshness when going to an 18" 40 series tyre from a 16" or 17" standard rim size. You will also have some tyre stretch when fitting a 225 on an 8.5" rim, leaving the wheels very exposed to gutter rash. Link below to the ProRace 1.2s

Nice pics BY! I was wondering where you got the little protectors that sit on the drivers and passenger windows (I don't know what they're called). I'm tired of having the window down just a tiny bit when it's drizzling and having water fall into the cabin :(
