  • 12mm spacers on stock MkV R32?

Hi, I have searched here but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for. Another site I saw mentioned that 12mm spacers on the MkV R32 would work well, with hardly any rubbing, on stock suspension, stock rims. Does anyone have an opinion on this? And where can I get quality spacers and what should I look for? I don't know too much on this topic so any help is appreciated. I am just after a wider stance. Thanks

Are you getting 12mm front and back? i dont know much about the MKV so i have no idea on what clearance you have out to the arches.
This you'll have to measure and imagine your wheels sitting 12mm further out and as if your heavy cornering with a full load. See if your wheel will hit anything.
You will also need new bolts at the thickness.
ecstuning.com Have some good stuff, it can be expensive but generally you'll make most of your money back if you sell them
Otherwise have a look around the suspension section for local suppliers.
You'll also need to know your PCD (5x112 for a MKV i think...) and they may have to be hubcentric so your wheel will sit on the spacer rather then the hub.

    Heres one i found... Link

I think the 12.5mm should be good for the rear, but it seems the fronts already sit closer to the fender edge than the rears, so maybe 10mm up front?
Thanks for that link, thats what I'm after, and it seems ECS Tuning has a good reputation too.

Now, where do I get bolts from and what diameter and length and seat type do I need to get?

Be aware that spacers are not roadworthy in most states of Australia.

That said, if you were to run them for track work, you want to make sure that if you get anything 10mm or thicker, that they're both hub and wheel centric (so that they centre on the hub, and the wheel then centres on the spacer) - you do NOT want to rely on your wheel bolts/studs (bolts for VWs, but most cars have studs, and this advice is applicable for any car), they're not designed to take any load across them, and they're likely to shear off if you do this.
        Nothing to see here...

How will I know which size bolts to get? in terms of length, diameter, etc, ecstuning has a few different sizes...
By the way, saw you on Compton road again today

Manaz does the ecstuning ones mentioned above comply with what you're talking about?

the link to the 12.5mm ones i sent you have the "both hub and wheel centric" bits manaz is talking about i think (compare them to a 5mm spacer say, see the bit sticking out in the middle?)
if you get 12mm spacers, get bolts 12mm long, measure one off your car or look up a mk5 section somewhere, diameter is the same as your existing (mine are M14s, but not sure if the MKVs are the same) check with your bolts if they have a ball end? if your going to keep your stock wheels just get exactly the same but 12mm long
