  • Anyone using KW V3s? Opinions please.

    Hey Guys,
I'm considering getting some KW V3 coilovers for the Tiguan and was wondering if anyone else on here was using these on their ride? How do you find them? Is the ride hard/choppy/comfy? Does the adjustment give you much softness or is just hard and harder? Is the ride compromised at maximum lowered height, i.e. wound all the way down to the lowest ride height? I'm after something a bit harder than stock but still fairly comfortable and would want to be running them at their lowest considering the Tig is a high rise in stock form but I don't want to lose too much ride quality. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks dubbers.

    Cheers
    Simon

      G'day Simon.

I can only comment on my V3's in my Mk1 & they are awesome.

The car is my daily driver & I travel 600+km a week in it & have never had any trouble with the ride quality. Nor feel crap after long road trips & I spend 3 hrs a day in it too!

I reckon I've done probably 40+K on them now too!

I've been in a coupe of Mk4 with V2's & they feel just as good, if not better as they are a heavier car & the ride quality is great.

V3's are alittle overkill for a daily driver & I only brought them for my street/drag/race car for the just about unlimited adjustment range, but the car's life was shortened (& so was the shell!).

So instead of having $2800+ coilovers laying around, I fitted them to my current car.

Thanks for the info much appreciated

I think at this stage the V3 is the only available model for the Tiguan and I also did want quite a bit of adjustment to get the ride just right. Do the V2s have damper adjustment do you know?

        Thanks again

        Cheers

          No worrys Simon.

The V2's have height adjustment & also rebound adjustment.

The V3's have height, compression & rebound adjustment.

I'll agree with Tim about his KW's in his Mk1. They're everything he says they are.

I've got KW's in my Caddy. They're V1's with adjustable rear rebound, but they're actually better than the normal V1's for some reason. I got the first set in the country and even the importer was surprised.

Rides like a dream, handles really well. Great shock control. Anyone that has ridden in the Caddy can and will attest to how great they are, and it's 10mm off the bottom of the perch!

My advice, if you have the cash and are willing to spend the money, just do it. Don't hesitate. They are awesome quality and you really do get what you pay for.

Thanks guys, good to hear they're everything I hoped for. Was initially a bit worried about them riding right on minimum height (comfort wise) but sounds like they'll be fine.

I have KW V2's in my VR6 and everyone who drives my car always remarks on how well it handles thanks to them.

I've driven quozl's R32 on V3s and the ride and handling is beautiful. Hopefully will be getting some this year as well.
