I've got some early Audi A3 wheels on my VR and was thinkin about painting them, but i want to know before i really start thinkin about it, if i change my mind and i ant to take the paint off can i get it back to what it looked like before painting in the first place?
I'm guessing the original colour you bought them in was silver? If so you can always have the new paint stripped off and have it repainted/powdercoated in the OEM wheel silver.
In direct answer to your question, no, it will be next to impossible to do that. Unless you use that paint that turns into rubber that simply peels off, you're going to spray it onto the other paint where it's going to bond and you'll never get that one layer of paint off.
Decide wisely...

ya they are silver, but i think its got a clear coat or something on it maybe.
suppose if i wanted to change the colour again i could just do the process again and have anotehr clear coat put on once i go back to the original colour...

Yeah that's the way it is! I suppose you can find someone who does vinyl wrapping and have them wrap it in whatever colour you fancy. If you don't like it, can always shred it off to reveal the original.
