Mate I like the first link you posted. Clean 5 spoke are great. But honestly, what you like is what you like. Dont let anyone else decide for you. If you want it then get it, if you dont want it then dont get it. Its your car, your money and you have to live with it every day.
I have some Simmons that look so bad it hurts me (They are gold and look like those crappy BBS things. Yech!) but they are a 3 piece, balanced race rim and go great. I couldnt pass them up coz they were only $400 with rubber. Who cares if they are gold. I also have a set of Enkei 12 spokes that I love. Go the Jap ricer race boy look! LOL
MK1 floG soon to have 16v 2L with cable change gbox - need a 16v turbo manifold

"Fit the gearbox ya bum." Loon - best post ever!

At the end of the day it is your car.
But as most people are trying to sway you to make your car look good.

those wheels you have chosen won't suit the car IMO, (and most people's opinion as well)

Remember wheels make or break a car; you can make your car look good, sick or just plain bad ass from your wheel choice.

i'm assuming the rota, sportmax etc. are a generic hub size? do you know if they fit a golf or if you need hub centric spacers? i like the work equip 03 copies.

they are generally bigger than what most hub centres.

they have like a 70mm hub centre, so yes you'd probably be wise to run a hub centric ring. I think you'll also need a different style bolt too.

I think the sportmax will be 73mm or something like that.

You will need hubrings to drop them down to fit golf fitment.

Those Works copies, are they Rota's? I've seen them in a mag for sale the black ones would look good on my blue mk1

What is the quality like on them?

lots of debate on that one. i know of a few people using them on drift cars and haven't heard anything bad. for street wheels i reckon they're great. shame there are no oz retailers.

Only place in Oz I know of that sells sportmax wheels are JDMyard...but I think the popular sizes and styles sell as soon as their shipments come in!
