Hey guys, just bought set of Enkei Monza From Bob Jane, for 275 a piece. I find this relatively cheap, does this mean it is a replica? How would we know if it's genuine or replica? Thanks

Bob Jane, Genuine or Replicas?

This is different with all wheel brands but some may have an embossed stamp of the brand or a sticker on the inside of the wheel listing the brand, its size etc.
I've found that most Japanese wheels (Enkei, Work etc.) are affixed with a sticker inside the wheel whereas European wheels (OZ Racing, BBS etc) have their logos and specs embossed on to the actual wheel. This is just a big generalisation though - you will see the opposite occurring with other brands.

If they were sold to you as Enkei rims and they're not, Bob Jane could be in serious trouble (trade practices act forbids passing off replicas as the real thing). You could give them a call and ask them to confirm the legitimacy if you want.
Why are you worried about it after you paid it? If you're happy with the design of the wheels and the price you paid, does it actually matter if they're reps or the real thing (as long as they're of a sufficent strength to be structurally sound)?Nothing to see here...

Thanks guys, so, just a check on the sticker in the rims to confirm the Genuinity? I've called them and asked they said, as much as they know it is genuine as their supplier gets the goods directly from japan.
Manaz: It doesn't really matter to me actually as long as it is lightweight and solid as a proper Enkei should be
. But thanks for the tips.

Enkei make all kinds of wheels for factory fitment, race, street, etc., so they're not all necessarily light weight if they're enkei.Originally posted by GIB-8 View PostThanks guys, so, just a check on the sticker in the rims to confirm the Genuinity? If you know the wheel model and dimensions, you can check the corresponding weight here:

Hey guys, it turns out the Enkei's didn't fit. But I got offered quite a good deal on a set of OZ racing wheels UK edition for 415 a piece. I turned them down, but if anyone's interested, Give them a ring; 0395684366 and look for Brad. Great race rims, weighs about 8 kg a piece.
Looks similar to the superlaggera III forged.

Well, I've checked, they are sort of brokers for the rims. Those rims are from UK and they have been shipped in to Sydney in a big batch. They were actually 560 a piece, I can't remember the exact value now. I turn them down and Brad asked me how much do I want to spend on rims, I said not more than 1500. He spoke to the guy again to see if we can get a better deal, so, we got 415 a piece shipped and fitted "he told me they want to rid of the product so they can get new ones". Best is if you want to have a look at how it looks like, go down to their store and he can show you the exact photos. The rims are not quite my taste so, I turned them down. If anyone interested for the deal just ask from Brad

They sold you rims that didn't fit and now they try to flog a set at twice the price.

The first set he bought from Bob Janes, they didn't fit the car.
The next set he got offered are a completely different brand of much better quality (so you'd expect to pay much more) and he didn't like them, so he is offering them to us.
1,660 for brand new OZ's fitted is a very good price.
p.s. it's "danger will robinson.....danger"
