So people, maybe a silly question but . . . Whats the go with bigger wider steelies? How do you go about getting them or modifying originals?! I have no idea, all I know is that I've seen a picture of a mk3 with dished steelies and it looked the ducks nuts!
MK4 Golfs/Beetles have 16inch Steels std in a lot of markets, 5 stud though.
A mate of mine in the UK used some old Weller 8 spokes and std 13inch mk1 wheels to create the wide look.
He split both set up and welded the VW centres into the Weller rims. He made a good job of it. They don't wobble and are balanced prefectly.
they look fat in sure 16 inch golf four and beetle steelies although painted black would be good go u would be able to get bigger brakes under those wheels too mayb s3 conversion
They are Mk2 steelies, as the holes are circles, not triangles like on the Mk3 steelies.
DubstarMk2 made some widened steel wheels and it was serious grief. That is why they cost $$. Any wheel place that can repair or widen wheels can do it, but you need 2 sets of wheels and $$$$$.
Yeah pi$$es me off too Robin. The cheapo chav syndrome

Firstly sorry Josh I do have issues but not with you mate. It would be cool to have some of these made up and offer them for sale. For anyone wondering why I am even posting, I priced this up some time ago and it would cost $1200 (new centres). I concluded interest would be minimal.
My rational was that offering BBS RS at this price was proving tough so for someone to fork out $$$ for wide steelies looked unlikely. Then again I've been wrong before
