got sick rims but 4x110 Redrill??

Hey peeps,

my mate has these rims that i can have for cheap as, they 15x9 and 15x8.5
low offset.. see pic. only problem is they're 4x110


have any of you guys had experience with getting rims re-drilled?

do you need hubcenrtic spacers for the centre too?

best bet is to take it to a wheel shop and get them to line it all up to see if they can redrill it. pete at ozwheels in st marys is one person who can do that, doesnt cost u anything too. me n ray went a year ago to do the exact same thing. by my untrained eye those holes look really close to the centrebore so im doubtful but theres no harm in going and asking. about the centre bore if its anything over 57.1 u can get hubcentric rings made which arent costly.

Looking at the centrebore, going to 4 x 100 is going to go damn close to either a thin or no meat between the new holes and the centrebore... You would need to drill them at 45 degrees to the existing holes.

I personally feel that you should keep looking, 4 x 100 rims are not too hard to come by.

thanks for that. i'll take it to a wheel shop when i get a chance. damn 9-5 doesnt allow a lot of time to get to places.

i see what you mean about the holes looking close to the centre. here's hoping i guess.

any ideas what a simple re drill costs?

nah they were imported by jap performance in liverpool, and they gave em to us cheap because we used to spend so much money there.
they were $150 they were on my mates 1979 mazda 626 until. it was written off a few months ago.

they look to be bbs ra wheels you could redrill if they are flat back centres? what is the et you may have to bore the centre ?
or these is wobble bolts i wouldnt though they arent my fav

yeah don't really want an open wheeler, flush would be nice.
cool thing about the stud design on a mk1 is i can at least sit the rims against the hub and see how the offset will be.

you know, its might not be much more work to instead of getting the wheels modified, get your hubs modified instead. it would be an easy job to have the drums drilled at 4x110 and tapped, likewise with a pair of front hubs.... because its 4-stud you have no interference problems. and the disks... well thats easy, they arent tapped.

just a though - i mean, you've picked this GLD up and it probably needs a lot of work anyway - so if your gonna do the front wheel bearings anyway, you'll have the hubs out
