Replacing suspension components - how hard?

My wife's not happy with the costs that are adding up on this - doing the labour myself will help a lot here!

Yeah my gf complains about how I'm always replacing bits on my car...I'm getting sick of it too but I'm learning and enjoying it (minus the payments) !

Any case I have the top mount hats in the suspension so I am sorted there. I will get my mechanic to replace bushes one dayyyy !

Question for you guys - is it normal to require spacers when you go to coilovers? I bought a set of coilovers a little while ago, and was surprised when they came with spacers (which to my knowledge are illegal in NSW - these aren't hub/wheel centric either, which also worries me).

Maybe someone fuxxed up the order or they thought it would need it but it didn't?

Generally when you fit coilovers, there's no sticky-outy bits so the suspension actually has MORE clearance than your stock setup. I find it hard to believe that you'd need spacers for coils?

They in fact arrived at my house at 11:30am today!
