ET35 and hottuning???

hey guys just wondering if anyone has used this offset/suspension ?

i dont wanna go get adaptors mate up only to find out they dont clear the coilovers??

also would like to know if you have a similar or close ET to 35 so i can compare

The bbs wheels where 7.5" with et35 and they rubbed against the coil overs all round.

The wheels on there now are mini d90's, 6" i think with et35 and they clear by about 1cm.

I dont know how different it is on a mk1 with the mounting of the hottunings, mk2 stock offset is et38 though and mk1 is 25 so i gues you would have a bit more room depending on width.

I have read that hottuning coilovers mount alot closer to the wheel than other brands.

I ran 30 and 40mm adaptors on my 928s but they were with KW's though.

Yeah they were 16x7s. Ran them with no spacers for a while and were fine, then ran them with the 15mm spacers. Never a problem with 195/45 and 205/45 16 tyres either

I can see that, that's why I'm still holding up my ET40 and haven't put it in.

But remember it may be different for a Mk1... Id would consult the Tex just in case!

what i would do is mount some wheels that you know the offset of. Then measure the clearance you have. Once you know that you can calculate pretty closely what width your adaptor needs to be. Also perhaps err a mm or 2 on the side of caution. It would always be possible to get some shaved off an adaptor. But adding more material is not really viable.

Just make sure you check and double check.

well...

sean came round with ET35 wheels this morning... i can safly say the rears sit fine

but the fronts need at least another 2mm for clearance as it hits on the adjusting bolt....

the reason i ask is because im puttin porsche wheels on my GLS...

they are 16x7 ET65 all round....

so the decision is i need 30mm front and 35mm rear

It's the width of the wheel. See how much clearance you have now dom and use an offset calc to see how much prouder to the strut the new wheel sits.

yeah ive worked it out mate, i used a 16x7 rim with the actual tyres ill be puttin on the porsche wheels..... hence the same spec ill be usingg for the spacers
