  • Whilst fitting coils in a MK3, what else should I replace?

Hey there guys, I'm going to purchase a set of coilovers in the very near future and was wondering what kind of items in the suspension I should replace if any whilst I'm swapping my suspension over?

I was thinking to replace the bushings and strut tops, as well as the control arm bushings but I'd thought I'd ask you folks before I start buying what I "think" I need when I get my coils and fit them to my awfully high VR6!

    Thanks in advance!

On a budget, I'd just change the strut mounts and that's it. Riding on coils will take its toll on the car and you'll start changing ball joints, sway bar links, wheel bearings and so on. Do those another day when one of them start ****in' up.

Fair enough, are all strut mounts the same on the MK3 models?

I think the replacement process needs to begin with my car..it's been aligned twice in 4 months and it still pulls all sorts of ways, the camber is out and it just doesn't feel nice.

I'm sure Ray will have all the glorious information I'm asking for... How much are all the little bits and bobs?

I was planning on doing the same as you by changing the strut mounts and the control arm bushes, just gotta sort out the coilovers first and then I can get the other bits.
