Mk1 16': 205/45 or 195/45?

Quick question: I've recently bought some new rims for my mk1 2dr, they're 16X7 et38's.. I can either fit 205's or 195's, as 205's are cheaper I thought I'd ask..

Is there any advantages to either? I.e. will 205's rub?

Any recommend tyres sizes/brands welcome!

i run 205/ 40 R16 nexan tyres on my golf there ok wouldn't go track racing on them but they work there not a bad price, my rims are 16x7 think 40 offset??? not sure but they don't rub come close to the front strut towers but there sweet
