anything is possible, you just gotta make it work...... offset and tyre choice is a main factor

i was thinking bora sport wheels 5x100 17x7 front 17x7.5 rear right offset and will be the only 17 inch wheels that will fit the brake set up

ideally i would love a set of 18inch BBS RS wheels but they are as rare as rocking horse poo i spoke to AMG gallery which are bbs stockist and i can order LMs but they are 500 a wheels without tyre so that wont be for a while.

          Any other suggestions

Bora Sport wheels are all 17x7.5 I believe, but yes, will fit over R32 brakes from the research I've done.

There are other 17s that will fit apparently, but they're relatively rare.

What wheels do you have at present?

EDIT: Apparently these fit over R32 brakes: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=25610

How much would you spend? I reckon you can't beat a set of "motorsport" wheels, like something from Compomotive or Speedline.
                Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
                Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

Thats the problem when u go big, even custom wheels get expensive. My 15" compomotive were a little over 400 each. To get that in 17x7 it costs ~620 each, and to get it in 18x8 is ~800 each

Better to stick to 2nd hand sets eh!

I've got a set of 17" R-Lines (VW Factory option on the Mk IV GTI I believe, they're effectively a 17" version of the 18" wheels from the R32) that are meant to fit over R32 brakes. I'll be mighty sad if they don't fit (not sure if I'll sell the wheels or brakes in that case).

What about the 6-spoke 17" wheels from the Audi TT of the same era (as per http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=27494) - would they fit over the R-32 brakes?
