  • Question about wheel spacers

    Hi Guys,
Considering getting some hub centric spacers for the VR6 but I noticed that on some brands of spacers they have an angled section between the main spacer plate and the hub mount area, as in pic below. Does this mean your wheel actually isn't sitting flush with the main plate of the spacer? It doesn't look like your wheel would sit right, maybe I'm just being an idjit but it doesn't look right to me?

Your wheel should have the same chamfer on the centre bore. If the spacer is going to interfere with it (Like, say if your wheels don't have a big enough chamfer to clear it), you can either buy some without the chamfer, or get it turned down by a local machine shop.

OEM wheels usually have the angled section. Aftermarket ones may be different.
I know thats the case with the BFI 10mm spacers. They are designed primarily with OEM VAG wheels in mind.

            Not yet.
I havent given the go ahead for the order yet. This Aussie dollar is killing me right now. Im doing my best to keep prices down. Im just gonna bite the bullet soon though cos Ive sold through on too much stuff. BFI stuff comes in via air though so once the order is done it shouldnt take long

Tim I'll be interested in some spacers for my MKIV eventually. I'll order them when I order dogbone mounts.

Out of interest how much are they? I had some custom made up (as in light tap with a rubber mallet tight fit) for about $100 each corner. Might be worth while???
