I keep my race tyres stacked flat in a cool, dry and dark place.
I'm not sure there's much difference between racking and stacking but I'm sure it's no good to park up the car with the semi-slicks still on it for any length of time.

i never stand flat wheels up due to the fact that there is extra rubber flex while the tyre is "drying up" in storage leading to rubber cracking and sidewalls being weak when inflated...
