Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VSCCS Certification

    Hey everyone,

I am going down the big brake kit route for my car, and seeing as the Mk6 R has single piston OEM front calipers, the change to multi-piston calipers requires VSCCS certification in NSW. I'd like to keep the car road legal because I'm not too comfortable driving around with non-compliant brakes... seems like it would be a slam-dunk case for the insurance company to void a policy.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with doing this, and if so, do they have a certifier they recommend? I've requested some quotes and got some in the $1500 ballpark, and I'm wondering if that's par for the course.

    Thanks in advance
