Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 118TSI on H&R Lowering Springs - Full load (4 passengers?)

    Hi,

I have 118TSI Comfortline (no sportspack), that Im planning to lower down to GTI or R ride height.

For those who had modded their 118TSI and lowered them to GTI or R spec, My question is how does it fare with having full 4 passengers riding with you?

Are you bottoming out or is the H&R springs good enough to carry all four at any one time? the reason why is, most of the time, its just me, my wife and our son. but when family comes over, like parents, there will be 2 more extra people riding in my golf.

Did you upgrade your standard shocks as well? Im just trying to go for looks, and I live in the city. I only use my car on weekends.

    Thanks in advance!
