  • 6R Gti BFYB Audio Upgrade

Hi all, I've got a 2013 Polo Gti that I'd like to upgrade the audio on. I do about 4000km a year so I can't justify spending a fortune. I've been to a few shops and they either confuse the hell out of me or they quadruple my budget. I'm happy to do some install myself if it's not too complicated in an effort to spend more on components. I would like to spend under $500 but if that's totally unfeasible I can do more. Any suggestions on best bang for your buck upgrades would be appreciated.

    Howdy,

What area are you trying to upgrade?

In previous cars I've been happy with just replacing the speakers, which I've done myself. For my budget I doubt I'd be able to squeeze in a head unit or an amp including installation. I'm just hoping for opinions on the best thing to do. I'm finding it hard to find size information or instructions for changing out the tweeters too.

        Hi Bradley,

You will find the easiest upgrade for your budget will be to add more power to the factory speakers, by using a compact power amp.

Focal FD 4.350 COMPACT 4-CH AMP

I have used these amps before in cars with factory head-unit and factory speakers. Adds a bit more volume and better sound without re-inventing the wheel.
