  • Speed and Red lights Cameras POIs Australia - MIB ii

    Hi guys,

I put together an up-to-date POI file with all the fixed, point to point and red lights cameras for the whole of Australia.

To install them follow the instructions below (credit to Primordial from vwgolf.net.au). Those are for MIBii, not sure if it works for MIBi.

    1. Download the zip file from here:

2: Extract the ZIP file to the root of the SD card

3: Insert the SDCard into the 2nd slot in the glovebox

3: Press the NAV button on your MIB II

    4: Press Setup --> Manage Memory --> Update My POI's --> Update --> Select SD Card 2

Done! you can now remove the SD card and enjoy your newly updated POIs!

    Enjoy!

Edit: Replaced google drive link with dropbox

Thanks Kiaorana. But when I click the google link, it says google has disabled the link since it violates their terms of service =(

Maybe I don't have the MIBII, but I don't get an Update My POIs option.

Which head unit do you have? Maybe Simone with the same can help you?

Thanks Kia for finding this info for us. I had problems last night with your link so went to the original VW Golf link (MIB II - Custom POI's / Speed Cameras etc) to see what Primordial had done.
The link from there to VW Germany to initially allow any data base to be converted into a suitable format was gold (POI-Listen Sammlung < Discover Geräte < Volkswagen NAV-Companion < Volkswagen Deutschland)
I have my own access to POI data bases so being shown in depth how to make and load the POIs was great.

              You're welcome buddy.

I also found that German site to be gold!

I tried loading this into my Golf R Wolfie wagon and all I get is:

"Error: no data available. Please insert a source with software update data or check the source"

I've followed the instructions exactly already. Any ideas?

How do you transfer the content of the MIB2TSD folder to the unit? As in just copy the content of the MIB2TSD folder content to the SD card?

Yes, absolutely. You just copy itnto the SD, then insert your SD card into your mib2

Tried this with some I made myself and then yours, and used the contents of the MIB2TSD directly in the SD card, didn't work. So put the whole folder in, still didn't work. I'm in a multistory office complex so had enough of going up and down the lift. Will look at it later. This is a 2016 Skoda Columbus unit but should be the same thing really. Skoda have a nicer interface to download POIs in their map update portal but there aren't speed cameras in there.

This did not work for me either. I formatted the SD to FAT file. that worked for me. Check that the SD card is not formatted as exFat. This is the file format for large files.
                          Good luck.

Just installed these in my MY16 Golf and seem to have gone in

Will see if they work when I take the car for a spin

                            Thanks

I'd like to do this too - can anyone advise if the files in the OP's dropbox link have been updated since the original post last year?

Obviously like to update to the latest file, rather than data that's over a year old.
