Noob Here need help (HU)

I did a bit of reading and searching and im still confused, So please excuse my noobness.
I just ordered a new Jetta and it just has the very basic radio in it (No touch screen). I was wondering if i could upgrade it to one of the touch screen models without it costing me a fortune. I looked on ebay and found a few which seem like genuine VW items. However im not sure what model etc i need nor which one suits the 2015 Jetta ? if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated

I don't have much specific detail for you but generally...
There a few different VW units. Your Jetta likely has a RCD300 unit; standard single CD player.
Then there is the RCD510 which is 6 stack cd with touch screen. http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...le-106069.html

Move up to RNS and you are looking at Navigation systems.

Some have input for reverse camera, some do not. Parking sensor display is another feature, as it AC controls on screen.

Different years different models different features. Some older cars pre 2008 need a new can gateway device to make them work properly and prevent the car battery going flat.

There are heaps of aftermarket units which look like the VW units,running android and other OS. Many of these units have long feature lists and low prices, but are probably prone to pissing you off once you start to use them, slow performance low resolution crashing ****ty nav directions etc.

If you get RNS510 and add bluetooth I think you will be north of $2k pretty quick.
If you really wanted a touch screen why did you not tick that box with the dealer ?

You might be better off looking at a reputable branded double DIN unit and getting a bezel to suit your dash, Pioneer etc.

Because the dealer wanted something crazy like an extra $2000, Even one of the sales guys told me it would most likely be a lot cheaper to get it done outside the dealer ship lol.

Im dont need Nav or reverse camera etc. It has bluetooth and USB etc as standard. Would just prefer something with touch screen, Stacker would be nice also. I just want it all to work with the car and not have any issues.

You need a bosch RCD510 190B if you dont need a camera and have BT.

Dont buy a Delphi is obvious as it has the little > < marks on each of the bottom buttons beside the screen. Instead of the Setup on the RH side one Only half an hour to fit yourself as if you have the 4 digit code they are plug and play
