Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Bluetooth: Replacing Kufatec Fiscon Plus with MoBridge or 9w7?

    Hi all

I currently have the Ficscon Plus BT unit in my car which I frankly hate with a passion. Maybe it's because I was spoilt with my previous Alpine BT unit, but this is just frustrating in so many ways. Although I have tried to update the firmware, following the guidance of Kufatec Australia, it told me the version I was trying to install was older than the one on the unit, which is nonsense. Plus the fact the BT music streaming only uses the front speakers, plus the very annoying element that when BT is connected, any time the phone (iPhone 6) does anything (someone picks it up and clicks a button, an email comes in, a Messenger or text message - anything at all, it pauses whatever you are listening to on any source, replaces it with silence, and after about 5-6 seconds, starts playing again.

So, given the only way of checking what the unit is, is to remove the RNS510, then I may as well go for a modern replacement. My audio man who I trust says the latest MoBridge is better than the VW unit, and I wondered if anyone had any comparisons or thoughts on either?

I'll second that, my 9w7 that Darkhorse installed works flawlessly when streaming music (iPhone 6) or making hands-free phone calls.

Thanks chaps - can you confirm that the 9w7 streams music to all speakers and not just the front as the current Kufatec does?
