Obtaining Radio Code For Removed RDC310

Hi everyone,

I swapped out the RCD310 in my Tig for an RNS-510 but I don't have the radio code to put it in another unit.

I asked the dealer to look it up from the VIN but it says I have to contact the supplying dealer to obtain it. The problem is that said dealer *was* Bryan Byrt and they are no longer around...

Mt. Gravatt VW's suggestion was to put it back in and bring it to them to scan it. Is this the only way I can get it?

They can get the code if they know the partno & serialno.

Your dealer should be able to provide this for you AT NO COST.

If you have an e-mail address for their service department, you need to e-mail them the serial number that is stamped on the metal housing of the radio itself. That is used to generate the security code. You can supply them the VIN as proof that you have the vehicle, however this is not used to generate the code.

It does not have to be the selling dealer, and they cannot legally withhold the code as long as you have provided sufficient information for identification.
