  • What does the dolphin symbol mean?

    Hello all.

i drive a 2014 Passat. I have a question which has been nagging me for a while. I have searched google for an answer but no joy. I am hoping somebody here would know the answer to this.

on the centre console, on the 'Tone' button there is a green dolphin symbol. What does it mean?

I have attached two photos of my dash. I am referring to the green dolphin symbol on the "Tone" button.
I have emailed Volkswagen Australia and haven't heard from them. The vehicle manual does not mention anything about this.

I am hoping some VW enthusiast here would know the answer to this. Thanks.

        It's a scratch.

It's like seeing Jesus in your burnt toast; just a coincidence.

It is a new car. And the chances of having a green scratch in the shape of a dolphin is very low.
Anyway after the last two posters I went back to check if it was a scratch. Nope, it is not. It is a well defined pic of a dolphin.

What is the version of your RNS-510, and is the "dolphin symbol" mentioned in the manual? In fact, does it appear in any of the images of the head unit in the manual?

if it is not a scratch then maybe it is a bit of tape or adhesive. Can you rub it off ?

Looks like paint. Take it back..it should not be there. I see them all day and never seen a mark like that before

Thanks everyone. I will ask the mechanic to look at it at its next service.
