  • Alpine X008AU Not Compatible with Dynaudio in 2008 R36 Passat

Yes that's what I'm being told.

Ive been trying to have an Alpine X008AU installed into my 2008 R36 that had factory Dynaudio installed.

Week 1 Attempt 1, failed due to faulty interface unit according to Alpine. MFD was not working
Week 2 Attempt 2, failed due to replacement unit. MFD still not working. Alpine said needed different interface unit
Week 3 Attempt 3, MFD working but no top end sound. Alpine says this is due to my very old car and factory fittrd Dynaaudio amp incompatible with Alpine X008AU 2008 R36. They have installed plenty into 2009 models with no problems. Good thing the MFD works this time.

So now they are saying I need to purchase a new amp =(

Any opinions? If I do have to get a new amp, any recommendations to go with my dynaudio speakers, I'm guessing I need a 10 channel amp?

    Cheers
