Eonon 5153 install with reverse camera - where to run wiring?

Hi all,

Recently bought an Eonon 5153 for my 2009 Tdi. I also have a reverse camera to install. I've got the headuit running fine, however I'm now up to the stage of running the wiring to the reverse camera and need some install advice.

From the back of the head unit, is there an easy place to run the wiring? I've tried to run it behind the glove box, but everything is seems so tight and sealed up, it's impossible to see (or feel) a clear space to run wiring.

Any advice from someone who has done the above would be awesome.

I did my RVC wiring the easy/lazy way haha.

Ran the wiring from the camera from outside the bumper, punched a hole and ran the wiring through the rubber plug on the back of the chassis (it comes out under the boot lining - if you take the bumper off you'll see it), up and around the the wall carpeting on the left side of the boot, past the rear seats, tucked it under the plastic trim (where the plastic trim and floor carpet) that runs the length of the inside, followed that all the way, under the glove box (again, between the plastic trim and the carpet), up to the left side of the centre console, then found a spot to push through between the console panels and up into the headunit hole.

It took a bit to get it all tucked away and hidden, and to grab the cables pulled up into the headunit hole, but it was way easier than taking any of the interior out.

I'd take it under the right-hand doors — pull the fusebox cover and you'll see where it can be led through and down under the doors.

It's easy to uncover the channel by lifting one side of the under-door trim (you'll need about 500mm of fairly stiff plastic rod or tube to lead the cable with.)
