Aerial connection - either bodgy fix or adaptor lead

As part of my Audience to Bolero upgrade I discovered the aerial connections were slightly different. No big drama as you expect these minor hiccups along the way.

As you can see, they are closer together.

Is there a bodgy method I can use or would a cable like this do the job?

If they're otherwise identical you might be able to split the connector (hacksaw job?) and wangle the two sections in separately — would ensure you don't lose any signal strength.

Yeah, that might work. Kind of spread them in a V.

I think N0063N said I could strip the outer plastic off the female connectors as well. i'm thinking rather than remove the whole lot I could file a flat on the parts that are interfering with each other

These adaptors could be had for less than that, search the ebay.

I assume I need the 2 into 2 & still utilise the beige coloured connector? or do I get the 2 into one & not connect the beige connector?

just found a post at briskoda that explains all the connectors, diversity antenae, etc.

Slowly getting my head around this - doubt I'll need an adaptor with a bit of judicious file work

make sure there is nothing else in the antenna system that is also different mate other that just the connectors.

i'm having issue with my rns-e at the moment and it involves swapping out my antenna amplifier.

you might be ok but i suggest its worth checking before you go hacking anything up...

Don't try and split the connectors as they are quite different.

There is the twin connector that has two separate connectors, and the dual connectors that has them on a single plug.

The reason you cannot split them is that the locking peg is offset on the dual connector compared to the single one, so even if you can get them split correctly, the locking peg will be extremely thin on on and none on the other.

You can get correct plugs.

...and when you get, here is the tip. Don't use it as an adaptor. Take it apart and use only the plastic housing, it won't clutter the space behind the unit.

Didn't bother with an adaptor.

Without going into the minor issues I was having, I just removed the outside plastic casing & plugged them in. They aren't locked in place & could vibrate out eventually. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

a dab of Tarzan's Grip in the appropriate places will hold them in — easily cut if you need to take them out.

I'm more of a Roof & Gutter silicone type of guy but thanks for the tip
