  • Rplacing RCD310 (factory BT) with RCD510, will I need VCDS/Vag-Com?

    Hi all,

My wife ahas a brand new Polo which has factory bluetooth and an RCD310, we've just bought an almost new Bosch RCD510.

My question is will it be plug and play? Or will we need VCDS help?

    Thanks in advance

If it's been used before, chances are it will be plug and play. All you have to do is put it in the car, enter the pin code and your good to go.

If not you will require VCDS to enable the steering wheel controls etc.

I agree.. the RCD510 is exceptional for a standard head unit... for $200 or so they are a bargain for those that have the 310

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)
