Hennie and I spent all Saturday on completing the following that are about to be posted up.
Sunday i was down in Karapiro watching the rowing.
It was a relativly constructive day.. especially seeing as tom came around with speakers sans speaker cones in his rover. (and he wondered why they wernt working)
Heres sa barage photos of the Work that progressed in the weekend.
Wow, you guys really spent some time on those sub boxes, awesome fabrication. I see you filled them with dacron wool to absord the reverse wave, but I've always wondered about just how much to use, and if this then drops the volume of the box? Is it really that acoustically invisible??
Or is it you guys just dig wool?
You have any plans to put a vent or a fan in for the amp? Great idea with the spare tyre well, it's starting to look good to me too....

funnily enough we just installed the fan system tonight and discoverd the subs love to rattle the interior apart.. so we are busy shutting up rattles... etc (another spanner in the works yay!
what has ticked me off.. i just rolled in to my garage about 2 minutes ago..
turned the key off.. opend the drivers door pulled the key and pop all the interior lighting and central locking died.. why the f*%^ do you have to blow fuses at me at 1:00am nz time grrr.
Well forgot to mention last night how much of a rattle trap the R32 is now..
looks like we will be needing ALOT of foam and deadening!
We put Dynaxorb pads behind the front mids seems as thou it has improved the quality a little..
but the stereo (before that and probably still is now) clear as a bell out side the car.. one things we will be needing alot... and i mean ALOT.... of dynamat or similar...
Good news is the Amp isnt running extremly hot any more with the new AMD processor Fans installed (cheers Glidn) we are waiting for his mum to figure out that two heatsinks and fans out of the new stock have gone missing
also made some foam speaker rings for the front mids to try and direct the sound as much as possible out the door grilles (ie prevent sound being played in to the door card.. hopefully this nullifies any vibrations that could potentially start..
still got to fix the leak on the passenger side box and the slight leak that just developed on the driverside box..
also the left has a slight lack of Dacron fluff
apparently the dacron fluff tricks the sub in to thinking its in a bigger box..
Yeah I never turn a stereo on until I deaden it, otherwise as you said rattles everywhere. You will find that once you deaden the inner and outer door skin that the dynazorb pad will work even better.
Far out 1am, you guys are keen! I would hate to think how many times a fuse has blown just to annoy the crap out of me.... Starting to really take shape thou!
Bora has gone ;( Custom sub box and beige floor mats to suit for sale.
