  • MDI and Aux not working on RNS510.

Hi i bought a second hand tiguan and just one little issue I cant seem to find an answer for which is my RNS510 wont work through the MDI (usb or ipod attachment) or even through the standard aux - both ports are in my glovebox. Any idea what i can check or what the problem could be?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure if this will help mate but it's worth a shot.

I had very similar issues on my s3 and this fixed it...

    2010 A3 BE, Aux in & 2012 RNS-E

Edit: I probably should have added that it would be worth getting the car scanned first to confirm if it's just a coding issue before you go messing with any wires. If it is the multi media plug that is an issue and you need anymore info give me a shout. I just installed mine at the weekend and it's fairly simple with the right gear.

Have you got the correct cable for the MIDI The one that comes with the car will only charge an IPHONE. You need to buy a different cable which is about $80 off VW and about $14 off Ebay
