Second Hand RCD 300.. Can i get one and simply plug and play

Hey All,

As the title states, I'm after a second hand RCD 300. I'm not going to look at a rcd 310 or above, the reason being i need to sell my car and my current unit is very badly worn.

I've sourced one from a wrecker (for $150 ) but i've now been told units wont work in other cars due to its programming? They can confirm i would receive the code in purchase.

Does this sound right?

It'll work, but you need the connectors off the antanna cables as well.

If they don't supply you the radio code, take your VIN and the serial number off the radio to your local dealership, and they'll get it off the database for you.

Thats a bit too much Look around, have seen RCD 310 for $50 (NOT 300 ) which is an older model

You'll need the code if it has not been installed in the car before. No programming will be required.

If you get an RCD 310 and have a MY07 or earlier, you will need a CANBUS upgrade.

If you want, i have 2 x RCD300 here (1xMp3 and 1xNo Mp3). I can sell you a unit and install if you like.
