tone button on rns-510

I just got brand new rns-510 version p...(not from ebay)....everything is fine just tone button like disabled...no soft click...
Is that normal or i missing something?
All button except tone gives you soft click..

All the 8 buttons on the front should feel the same. If one is different I'd return it. Who did you buy it from? Does it still bring up the menu?

Yes, menu comes out...brend new from box...very confusing

Might be missing the rubber behind the button. Or the P version may be a little different to the H in the way of buttons but you wouldn't think so. Hopefully someone with a p unit can chime in. If it works and doesn't bother you then leave it. But if it annoys you send it back.

If it was me (and providing its spouse to be like the other 7 buttons) I'd return it because if the buggered on button what else is not right on it. Progley a Friday 4pm unit

You are right...but maybe version p do not use thid button at all...
I am checking this issue now..

My version p has followings buttons:

on top:
< > eject button and star

radio map
media nav
phone traffic
tone setup

so, this is different menu from rns-510 c, h version...
Anyway, this tone button what is for?

Your buttons are the same setup as all the rns510's. the tone button is the accesse to changing the sound of the unit i.e bass, treble, mid, balance, fader ect.
