  • 09 Jetta Parking sensor

    Hi,

The parking sensor system seems to not be working on our Jetta.

It is a factory fitted system.

When reverse is selected we get one longer beep then nothing. Nothing comes up on the radio screen.

So, probably is a faulty sensor which has shut down the system,.. right???

Is there any way to find which sensor it is.

Is there anything I can do??

    or

Is this sort of thing a dealer job only.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Is def a dealer job. I have rang Bosch Australia in the past regarding the system (mine wasn't broken by the way) and they know very little about the system. Talk to your local Service Centre and they should be able to assist.

Had the same thing happen on our Passat after driving in heavy rain. Plugged in the VCDC which came up with faulty mid rear sensor. Booked it in at the dealers but seems to have come good. I guess the water has dried out of it.

Hi, nothing you can really do without a diagnostic check... the long tone and then nothing after means a fault in the system... usually just a sensor, middle left rear I've seen before have issues. .....VDUB.....

hmm.. just had this happen to mine and it's been booked in for a check.
mine has a long tone (different from the usual tone when you engage reverse); no image appears on rns510 and the button on the console flashes.

Well, maybe Veedubmotorworks could do it cheaper. Did they give you the faulty parts?
