CD changer in MY08 Jetta with Sat Nav

Hello all,
I took delivery of an MY08 Jetta last Friday with the Factory Sat Nav and changer. I was wandering if anyone can confirm for me whether or not the CD changer in MY08 Jettas can play MP3s? I have read somewhere else where on this forum that one of the changes with MY08 was that the changer was MP3 compatible however the change I have does not play MP3s.

The Head unit in my golf is, not sure whether they would have updated the changer too, i was actually wondering if they would.

ive never read that the seperate changer can do it. The update to the RNS510 sat nav is probably what brings mp3 compatibility to that unit
