THIS IS ONLY FOR THE DR500GW-HD WIFI
Have found a way to do this Have just done it and it is working fine.
Here is what you do.
Down load this from here
Format your SD card in Fat32
1. Put the BlackVue folder from the ZIP file in the root of the SD Card.
2. After restarting the camera with the new files on the SD Card the upgrading will start.
3. After the upgrade is completed the voice will say the "The version information is different".
4. Turn off the camera.
5. Put on the SD Card the file "version.bin" extracted from the ZIP named "After_upgrade_in_folder_BlackVue-Config_put_this_version.bin" in this location:
"BlackVue/Config/version.bin"
overwriting the old "version.bin" file.
The camera will start with english voice on the Korean camera.
From now the camera can be updated anytime directly with the English firmware.
I deleted the old Vers file and copied and pasted the new one for surety sake.
It does work. Takes about 3 mins for the second part DONT Turn the power off till it says" Starting normal recording"
The WIFI on mine also still works fine I turned WIFI on in my phone and it found and connected to the camera immediately.
Opened the Blackvue Viewer in the phone and the files appeared Live view also worked fine.
So it appears the Firmware is not encrypted to the version of the camera as the Manufacturer says.
