  • Instrument cluster swapping MKV R32

    Hi,

I currently have the 1K6 920 862 F instrument cluster in my 2006 MKV R32. Wanting to install a new(used) cluster from a wrecked R32 with the part number 1K6 920 874 B. Reason is going from a half-height MFD to full height MFD.

Already have the highline CECM in the R32, with light and sound menu enabled if I need it, a new cruise control stalk is easy to install if I need it....sure my steering wheel buttons should work though.

The new cluster requires VW to use their geko computer to read the code so I can get the immobilizer and keys coded. Secondly I will need the mileage corrected as well. There are a few people in the UK who can do this, and have also installed a Sirocco R cluster in a MKV Golf.

Anybody know how to do this in Australia, or know of a dealership that may attempt this? I may be sending away the cluster to the UK to have someone 'reset' it, so VW in Australia can code it up, just like a virgin cluster.

    Any thoughts?

there is a guy on Home - The Skoda Forum and Community who can do instrument cluster swaps. perhaps ask him how to do it.

he has put colour VW clusters into skodas etc. so combinations don't appear to be an issue.

I've also got a brand new unused cruise control stalk if you need it... bought for a steering wheel swap then realised I already have the new one
