Updating CANBUS for RCD500-510

Need help as i cant find i solid answer on this, i have spent about 4 hours searching the net...

Is it possible to UPDATE my existing canbus from my 2006 TDI Golf to cater for the RCD510 with VCDS?

Hi there, I have a CAN gateway unit that I ordered for my RCD510 upgrade, found out at the end my car already came with a updated CAN gateway. If you need one just let me know. Cheers
