  • RNS510 / Bluetooth issue.

    Hey Team

Just fitted an brand spankers RNS 510 H to my 2008 R32. So far it would appear that all is well and I don't need to worry about the CAN BUS. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile I no longer have blue tooth for my phone

The car came with Ego Talk (Parrot?) blue tooth. It was pretty basic, but worked. Now it doesn't. My question is, can this be fixed with a VAG COM update of some sort, or do I need to spend up some more on a new kit?

The back of the RNS510 has a slightly different pin configuration for the audio in wires & the phone mute wire from the Parrot kit. Have a look closely at the back of your old unit [take a photo] & then have a look at the back of the new one. It's a simple matter of changing 3 wires from the Parrot kit to different positions on the new headunit.

Thanks for the quick reply mythik. I've now got an instant headache thinking about the 'simple matter of changing 3 wires'. Any suggestions on how that's done?

Well. Buggered if I could work it out. Specialist couldn't sort it.

I'm now the proud owner of a Kufatec Fiscon. And I like it a lot!

I bet it will be months before someone finally rings me while I'm driving
