It turns out that you can pair multiple devices via Bluetooth for different functions. So have my Iphone paired for calls and have the nano connected for media.

There was a different option for media. So having 2 photos connected for cellular functions wouldnt work (I doubt it anyway).

Would imagine you'd need to connect the ipod first to take out the media.
