Radio/Navigation Screen Blank

My radio and navigation screen will not operate. I think it could be a fuse but cannot find it. I do not have a plan for fuses in the car which is a passatcc 2009/MY2010. Can anyone advise me as to the problem and the way to fix it. Thank You.

First did you push the on/off ,?
Don't you have the owners manual as there is a section on how to replace the fuses ,

So far as I know, the internal fuse box is in the same place as the Golf — at the end of the dash panel inside the driver's door.

The trim panel pulls off quite easily.

The manual is no help for fuse layout, as it varies from car to car depending on what's installed.

However, finding and replacing blown fuses is a simple matter — just look for the missing wire in the fuse body.

There should be a removal tool clipped to the trim panel.

Thanks Idle, I know of and opened the fuse panel at drivers side of car. You are correct as I can't find a fuse layout in the manual. I was a bit worried about pulling out each fuse to check for breakage as this car has heaps of them and I worry about causing any other problems. Volkswagen dealer told me the fuse for the screen was behind the actual screen. So thought I would just check with you as to remove the screen is beyond me. Do you think this is correct. Thank You.

From memory, there is indeed a fuse in the back of the head unit

Is there any warranty left on the car? Did you just call to the dealer or went there? To check the fuse at the back of the unit you have to remove the unit.

Does the radio still work? Just wondering if maybe you inadvertently turned the display off. Probably already tried that, but you only mentioned the screen being blank.

Thanks for the replies( DragonzBreath, Transporter, Buckets.) There is no warranty on the vehicle now. The radio does not work and I can't turn on the screen. Dealer has told me there is a fuse at the rear of the unit. It is going in to the dealer tomorrow(tues 18th.) to be repaired. I was too worried about trying to pull out the unit myself, so, will have the experts do it. Just hope the cost is not too great!!!!!!!!! Thanks again for your replies.

Have a look at the My-gti.com website, it isn't that hard to remove the radio yourself, and I find it odd that the/radio fuse has blown and the other hasn't. Also might be worth looking in the vcds who can help thread if there is someone local.
Vw will charge you the time it takes to remove and reinstall the radio - expect about 1 hour (I can do it in less) and if it isn't that fuse, well, they'll charge you anyway...

Sorry I didn't post earlier — got involved elsewhere.

Removing the radio is very simple — the surround trim is quite easily pried out, uncovering the retaining screws.

Remove those (Torx 20, usually) and the unit just pulls out. The cables are normally quite long, so you won't strain anything.

Radio Screen now Fixed.

Took car into VW dealer this morning. It appears there were some wires disconnected which were relative to the bluetooth system. Repaired and all works fine. took 1 and a bit hrs. at a cost of $129.00. Thanks to everyone for your advice and help. Regards.
