Satnav upgrade Brisbane and other electronic questions

Would like to get my Satnav firmware upgraded as it has 2840 in it which is pretty old.

VW wont do it. Can someone do it for me please.

Would also like to know 2 other things.

Can the overspeed signal be altered to jump up in 1kph increments instead of 5kph.

Also can electronic speedos be adjusted to be more accurate.

My Passat is just over 3kph fast and the Polo is 7kph fast and is an absolute pain.

I realise both are legal but after coming from a Toyota that was accurate at 100kph its most annoying

I started a new thread on topic you've posted. I believe that someone nearby where you live will answer you. The worst case scenario, you could remove the satnav from the dash and post it to Kamold or JohnC. I know that it's not the most cost effective option, tough.

Just in case ... Transporter meant remove the satnav and not your speedo.

Unfortunately to correct speedo is not so straight forward with coding.
Most effective way is to get larger wheels.

In terms of firmware upgrade I will assume you have a C unit.

IMO you should just upgrade to FW 3970, but will probably lose your map and any music on the HDD.

Definitely need to have a copy of a map disk to reinstall back if doing the upgrade

As far as the tyres are concerned it would take an extra 40mm increase in diameter to bring it to be dead accurate and these would be illegal in QLD

Have got it sorted and it will all be done next week hopefully
