  • Bluetooth music streaming - Samsung GS2

    Hi everyone
Sorry if this has been asked, I have done a search though.
When I picked up my GTI a few weeks ago, the dealer did the sync on my SGS2, however the music I have on my phone starts to play everytime I get in the car. This isn't a drama as I don't listen to the bluetooth music but I would like to know if anyone can help me change a setting on my phone (or the car) so it doesn't start streaming automatically?
    Thanks

My best guess is the Samsung is picking up the A2DP media player connection and some setting is telling it to play. Since you don't really need BT streaming you should be able to disable AD2P/Media in the bluetooth menu. Here's a generic android method that should work...

Go to your list of bluetooth devices, and long press on the one you want to change, and choose options. Uncheck bluetooth audio.

I don't remember if this option exists / whether it worked the same way in Gingerbread (Android 2.3), but if your SGSII is running ICS (Android 4.0), just unpair the phone and pair it again, there will be one menu that pops up asking for pairing password, and a second menu that pops up after connecting, asking if you want to allow use as media audio. Hit no for that option and you should be good. There is no way to change this permission in Samsung's stock ROM after pairing which is why you need to unpair first...

I *think* thats slightly different. AFAIK selecting that makes the RNS automatically switch to BT audio if you press play on the phone. Disabling that would stop the issue, but the phone would still be streaming audio over BT which would eat the battery pretty fast.

Worth a try though. I think it's in settings under Media.

DarkShadow should be on the money, since I also have that setting off and my SGS2 is fine. If I switch to the BT Streaming input it automatically sends a Play command to the phone, so you want to avoid the car automatically switching to that input when the phone connects.

Check out the free app called A2DP Volume for other cool features such as automatically adjusting music volume on the phone when connected to BT and reading out incoming SMS through the car speakers (comes through as a phone call so you can 'hang up' if you have passengers).

i'm pretty sure that is not the case.
                Ryan_R's comments confirm this.

go to "media" under the "setup" menu and make sure the "bluetooth audio autoplay" is unchecked.
