  • Need help with mic issues on rns 510

    Hi All
Just a quick question on installing a second mic just for the rns 510 as i already have a mic on the factory fitted bluetooth and cant figure how to re route the mic to the rns 510 from the bluetooth without major wiring issues.
If i put a second mic (vw one) just on the rns will it conflic with the bluetooth or be ok.
Or is there a quicker or better way.
I live on the central coast near Gosford and cant find any one who can do this for me. If any one is out there near Gosford and wants to earn a bit of cash for the job let me know.
    Tks

Have you had a look behind the RNS 510? Might be as simple as fixing where things are plugged in. Fixing the wiring is probably easier than trying to route another cable through the roof and A pillar.

    Here's the diagram:

Not Mic In + Mic Out pins. Microphone goes to RNS Mic In then RNS Mic Out goes to Bluetooth loom

    Here's the wrong way:

    And here's the right way:

Obviously my RNS and Bluetooth were retrofitted so I don't know if your loom will be plug'n'play like this.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

Tks for your help I did look behind the rns but no mic cable has been feed through to the rns just the bluetooth. I might just have to try and run the mic cable down to the rns and then onto bluetooth.
