It was the M140 firmware, and I did follow the guide.

I unzipped the contents to the root folder of the SD card which was formatted correctly. I unzipped the MCU file, then turned the unit on and put it in the media slot. The SD screen came up after the initial VW logo with the spinner, but it just sat there essentially telling me that there were no music files to play. I let it be for 10 minutes, but nothing. After issues when I tried to upgrade the faulty M136 firmware where I was told to skip the first step because there might have been nothing to upgrade in it, I went through the swapping the firmware card with the GPS card and did the second part.

    • I update to M140. I did the second part with the GPS slot. There is nothing to update in the first part because everything is up to day.

So far everything looks OK. The OBD screen is very limited. The speed, the handbrake and the trunk door are the only working for me.

      • ok guys, ive extracted the M140 zip file i have, and inside i can see 2 more zip files titled as follows:

        ANS510AS.121123.m1.D1.zip
        ANS510AS.130806.m1.D0.zip

do i need to do anything with these files or do I put them on the root of the SD card as suggested and the Unit works out which one it needs? or is this the part that someone refereed to as the BT number?

If I need to pick one of the above files how will i know which one i need to use?

        Thanks in advance.

        • If you read the instructions you will find out which one to use or take a look from your current firmware to find out which one you already have.Click image for larger version

          • Maybe I've put the kybosh on it, but this update seems to have fixed the displaying of the OPS sensors.

The previous firmware would only show the OPS screen when you shifted into reverse as long as it was not on the navigation system. With the M140 firmware the OPS screen shows a couple of seconds after you select reverse even when on the navigation system.

              Hi Rivol,

Appreciate the feedback but that still doesnt answer my original question..

having extracted the M140 file those 2 files are in the root directory.. assuming i find one that matches or is similar to the one already on the unit, do i delete the other one from the folder? or leave it there and the head unit will find the right one?

what bits should I be concerned with on the picture you posted? MCU? MPEG etc?

For the record im not a complete numpty at flashing things.. ive done phones and tablets etc loads of times, but the consequences of me screwing up my stereo is far more serious as I wouldnt have any tunes or satnav etc, so want to be entirely sure I dont brick it when performing this.

These are the files I have once ive extracted the M140 update Zip, I believe im currently on M99 firmware so any advice on what I need to leave on the SD appreciated.. I will check the current version I have tonight when i get home and maybe then I can get rolling on this update.

                  Hi Rivol,

Thanks for clearing that up, im fairly certain i have the reverse wire as i got a camera with the unit...

I will give the update a go over the weekend and see how I get on.. in the mean time is there any danger of you mailing me those instructions that you have complete? so I have them for future reference?

                  Thanks again

                  • These are instructions from Sandy, you have to subscribe with him in order to get them, I don't think he would like to publish them

                    • Hi RIvol,

Right i think im ready to rock, having checked my version on the unit I appear to be way behind.. M94!!

Anyway im all set but noticed on my current firmware there is nothing next to MPEG? i assume that this will just get updated and be ok?

Ill give it a try tomorrow but here is how my card looks ready to go in..

hoping this is all I need....

for the record my current MCU is ans510as.130112.m1.t1

any ideas on what the T1 is? and does this mean I need to use the D1 file i have and not the D0?

                      thanks all!!

                      • MPEG is not important. Only reads the code IF there is a signal present.

                        • Maybe it's better to try the M99 first so you can update also the MPEG which I think it's not included in the latest M140.

I don't know what is the "510as.130112.m1.t1". The critical is to have "M" firmware and not "V", so go on and if you have problems with the D1 you can always try swap to D0

                            • Hello everyone, I'm Italian and sorry for the bad English. I have an
ans510 with firmware M136. I'm very glad but I have two questions.

I have a sd card 16 giga, reads files but sometimes if I try to turn
back the sd freezes and I have to go to another function.

ops sistem screen only work with the system radio turned on. However i
shifted the reverse gear but the radio is turn off, i don't see the
imagine of the car on display, but I only hear the sound of ops. It 's normal? i have a
skoda yeti 2012 and with the M136 firware I see all the functions about
                              car information.

                              Thanks

                                Yes, it's normal.

I did mention that I thought it had been fixed a few posts back, but I spoke too soon. No real problem as the sound warning is still there.
